All in all it was a much less, emotional wrought episode but advanced the plot strongly and had some good Hugh/Borg/Picard scenes.

The feeling i had going into the episode was apprehensive? Nervous? I really wasn't sure about it but the first episode was powerful. Major spoilery stuff under the cut. If DW had a spoiler function i'd use that too.
