This one was a breath of fresh air and made me feel a lot better. As ever spoilers under the cut.
Only two episodes to go!
- They actually did some backstory and some humanisation (for lack of a better word) of the main romulan woman so kudos for that.
- Oh seems to be genuinely Romulan? So that would be the first known Romulan with Vulcan style psychic powers that I know of. (Wrote this too early! We found out she’s half-vulcan.
- Seven’s reappearance did a lot with a few scenes. Her awkwardly comforting Elnor. Her worries about becoming Queen. That she disconnected again. All great stuff. Seven really could be headlining her own series here. There’s that much material for her.
- Picard’s scenes with Soi showed as more compassionate again which is great, taking Troi’s advice to heart.
- He’s also appropriate quietly furious with Jurati. But still coaxes what he needs from her.
- Jurati meeting Soji was great one of the heartwarming highlights of the episode. Just meeting Soji is enough to cure her of ‘the poison’ Oh slipped her. Even with Soji hits her with the though question of does Agnes appreciate her as a piece of engineering or as a person.
- We find out one of the earliest ships Picard served one was a Reliant. I’m surprised they didn’t retire that name after TwoK.
- Picard mentions his classmate from Tapestry by name. She made Captain as well. Impressed at the continuity.
- That speech really was the whole point of the show. There may have been a synth apocolypse before but this not BSG or Mass Effect, it doesn’t have to happen again.
