So I've been following up my listening to the Half Blood Prince audio book with listening to Stephen Fry read Deathly Hallows, and while I'm not usually one to go for the "lol wand = penis" thing, this quote out of context did make me snigger:

"No wonder I can't get it out, Hermione, you packed my old jeans, they're tight"

Plot bunny for anyone who's actually capable of writing right now: Hermione likes seeing Ron in tight jeans but it causes problems later.

---

The other thing I've been noticing, that i'd seen commented on before and not really seen when reading to the books; is how different Hermione seems. As it she quite frequently seems to panic, or mess up or just plain burst into tears. I've only reached the bit where they're talking to Kreacher at Grimmauld place but still.

I don't know whether its supposed to show that Harry's the real hero and not her, or show that she's not coping as well with out the safety net of dumbledore/being at school, or just its done inadvertently while showing off how's Ron is now trying to be sensitive and supportive and all that jazz.

But it does strike me as weird.

So in an effort to get in to a more Harry Potter mindset so I can finally hammer out some fic. I stuck the mp3s for Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix  audiobook as read by Stephen Fry on my mp3 player to listen to them on my walk to and from work. Just got up to chapter 3, with the advance guard picking Harry up form the durselys and...

and will never be able to take Tonks seriously again.

Stephen just gives her such an odd accent. I guess there's only so many femalish voices he can do before they start to blend together but still; he gives her this thick accent, like sort west country-y, or welsh. Totally threw me off. Harry seems a lot more obviously a moody emo teenager with Stephen reading him lol.

In real life news, I went home to my parents this weekend just past. I am also going home weekened coming. Reason for this is i have two friends, women I now from high school, that I was going to meet up with including one who has been around the world and I've not seen since the beginning of the year. This friend (lets go with A) has flaked out on a meet up before since they've got back fair enough, they had no job and money issues when the first arrive.

But this time A  says she probably wont turn up again because they've got a terrible cold, but at that point I've already told the folks I'm coming and I dont want to cancel on them. So  I tell the other thread (call her B) I'm coming down whatever happens with A and do we want to go see that film we talking about. So she agrees.

So the next day A definitly decides she can't make the meeting but promises she come down the next weekend, While B mentions that her dad wants to see the film (Skyfall the new 007 incidently) so why does she go see it with him at the weekend instead of me, and i can hang with my parents this weekend and we'll all meet up the following weekend.

So i ended up not seeing either A or B this weekend. Mentioned this to A on fb and she thought it was really weird that I'd told B i was making a special trip home and she ditched me. lol.

In conclusion, does this seem wierd to other people? And how do women think anyone?
