I feel you. Just spent the last two days plotting out everything that's going to happen in my Jon/Arya fic. I was like wow that's a high word count...but it's not the real story : (

Writing is loads of fun, except when it isn't.

on the plus side, knowing where something is going is a good thing. less chance it'll peter out on you.

Good point. Outlines help me, but they're not for everyone. How do you feel about your fic?

I have had mixed reactions to outlines. Sometimes they've really helped my plot out a fic like 'subsitute my coke' other times they just make me feel like I don't have to actual write the fic.

If I'm doing something with chapters then I need an outline. I'm too wordy, so having a set list of content keeps me on track, but I can definitely see how an outline could get out of hand. That's a good point about feeling like you've already written the story. I definitely had that feeling when I finished the J/A outline.

Sometimes? Even when my muse is on and I'm in the throes of creative frenzy, it's hard for me. So worth it, though.

you're definitely right. Often ha been the time something has seemed awesome in my head and the idea not seem great on page.
