Harry Potter didn't know where the idea came from a chance remark overheard at a party, a Witch Weekly cover seen in passing, or a nasty part of his own subconscious, any of them could be to blame.
She only wants you for your fortune.
He of course had money, and she did not. It had never come up. There was of course a solution, wait a few months and her quidditch career would take off and she'd be making more than he was.
Ginny Weasley walked into the room, eyes ablaze, red hair flowing.
Harry proposed on the spot.
