It might have been Neville Longbotton's imagination but when Ginny Weasley appeared at the party, the music seemed to stop.

Her suitors closed in: Michael Corner, Dean Thomas and Harry Potter. Even McClaggen and Malfoy seemed to think they had a shot.

She walked past them all.

"Care to dance, Neville?"

"O-of course," said Neville remembering the last time they'd danced.

The music was slow and languid but Neville's brow was creased with the effort of not stepping on Ginny's feet.

"Relax, Nev," she whispered. "You don't have any competition at all."

Neville didn't so much as dance as soar.
