So, lots of fests going at the moments. Lots of prompt forms to be filled out in the hopes they'll be filled. Like say this fic. (stealth rec: that's a harry/pansy fic you really should read)

But anyway, the question: do you put the same prompt in many fests? Does it make a difference if their fests at the same time. Or re-prompting it in a later fest.

what is fandom's etiquette and protocol on this? I mean I assume it would be no problem. (aside if its the same people reading each time they're still not likely to pick it up) But then there was that fest especially for reprompting which makes me think it might be a no-no the rest of the time.

I wouldn't reprompt verbatim but if there's a thing you're really into go ahead and put it down. Worst case scenario no one fills it, best case someone does. What are some of the prompts you want filled? Maybe I could write one for you : )

I think that's actually fairly realistic. I live in an apartment building with other students, and it is definitely awkward when you hear other people having sex next door/upstairs. During exams Ben and I were hanging out and studying because we both had a lot of work. I stop for a second and listen.

Me: do you hear that

Ben: yes. your neighbors are having sex.

We just laughed about it, but I could see it being a turn off for some people.

I don't think there's really a set protocol when it comes to re-prompting. I personally don't have a problem with us, but with two conditions:

1 - Don't cut and paste.

2 - I never reprompting a prompt that's been filled at a different fest. I know from personal experience that your feelings can be hurt when you fill a propmt for a person, then see them leave that exact same prompt elsewhere later. It's like, "Well, what didn't you like about it the first time it was written?"

For example, several of the prompts I left for [livejournal.com profile] fortheloveofhp were unclaimed ones leftover from last year's [livejournal.com profile] interhouse_fest. They weren't claimed last year, but they were claimed at FTLOHP. :)

So really, it's up to you.

I'm guilty of requesting a lot of the same characters and pairings, but I try to change up the actual prompts from fest to fest. The point is to inspire someone, right? How can writers/artists be inspired when they see the same prompts over and over?
