Neville Longbottom was aware his status had changed when he returned for an eight year at Hogwarts. Pansy Parkinson had never given him a second glance before let alone flirtation at breakfast.

The two people he was interested in were the two he'd spent most time with last year but Luna Lovegood stared vacantly at her food and who knew what she was interested in. He was aware of the intensity of his attraction to Ginny Weasley and even more aware of her focus on Harry Potter.

At the Hufflepuff table, Hannah Abbott fixed lovestruck eyes on him, totally ignored.
