Long Weekend

Well it's Monday evening, but it feels like a sunday evening. Hooray bank holidays! Here in the UK we have one at the start of May and one at the end of May. I'd feel better if they were spread out a bit more. lol.

So I spend the weekend at my folks, for my mum's birthday, this involved walking, a meal out, more walking and an otter sancutary. (which involves walking.)

Fun times. Now i'm back at my work lodging and listening to my housemate play the guitar.

I did get some writing done on the train there and back though. So that's a plus.

My god, how many bank holidays do you get?! Our last holiday at the university was 21 January, and we don't get another until 4 July. But we do take almost 2 weeks at Christmas.

Lol. We get christmas, boxing day, new year. Good Friday/Easter monday. Then two in may. And one in august. Not sure why we have those.

Apparently so. I hadn't thought about that. :P

Otters are cute. Even when eating dead chicks and fishhead. They had some giant otters from the amazon as well. And when they say giant they aren't kidding around. The handler isn't allowed in the pen with them.

Oh. Nothing much. this and that. secret stuff. ;)

I mean, that would probably still be cute if it was gnawing your arm off. That level of cuteness is ridiculous. My monitor emitted high-pitched squeals when I did a Google image search. Oh no, wait. That was me.

Hey. Jamaica had one of those holidays last week (May 23 - Labour Day) where you're supposed to do community clean-up programmes and such but mostly we just stay home and watch tv. But, besides all the walking that otter sanctuary sounds fun.

I think one of the may holidays is labour related. Probably the Labour party trying to bribe us to voting for them or something. lol.

Lol Well, Jamaica is part of the Commonwealth so I'm not really surprised. Any day off from work/school is fine by me. :)

Sounds like a great weekend :D We had a long weekend as well for Memorial Day. Also great to hear that you got some writing done, I remember you saying that inspiration has been thin on the ground recently.

Had a pretty similar weekend here. Spent time with the parents, visited Ben's family for a cook out, went swimming in the still-very-cool water.

I'm excited to read it :D I've been working on a fic where Arya marries Theon and then develops a relationship with Jon, who has gone to Pyke with her. And a different fic where Arya is captured by the Lannisters and forced to marry Tywin. I have two chapters of the first one, and the second one will be a one shot and I'm halfway through that.

I wish there was a kinkmeme type thing for HP. Most of the ones I've seen require you to be anonymous/etc.

Ha. Those are some varied plot ideas. Sounds interesting. Though hopefully Arya is aged up in them?

I think I did see a HP version of kinkmeme someone where but it had like themes and things for each round.

As to my fic, how busy are you? If I manage to finish it tonight would you be up for some betaing?

Yes, Arya in the fic is older than in the books. Around 16-17 in both stories, so realistic for Westeros.

I could beta for you : ) None of my writing has a deadline so I wouldn't mind looking it over.
