harry100 Prompt 458: 99 Problems. UnBeta'd and I am not parent myself.
---
Harry levitated a mug of strong coffee over to his wife as Ginny came into the kitchen, running a brush through her hair and exclaiming over the time.
“Thanks,” She said. “You going to be okay with the kids while I train?”
“Of course,” Harry said, at that moment tempting baby Lily with a spoonful of baby food.
No sooner had Ginny disapparated than Lily threw her bowl across the kitchen. Harry dealt with that and then saw the time.
“James, are you dressed? Time to go.”
“Shan’t!” James yelled from the top of the stairs.
“In uniform!” Harry insisted.
-
Through much insistence, Harry got James to his school and got the other two kids back home. He settled Lily in a playpen and took a moment to make himself a cup of tea.
Before the kettle had boiled he heard a pleased laugh and went to investigate. Al, who was just entering his terrible twos (compared to James who had never left them), had got hold of a bottle of Mrs Skower's Magical Mess Remover and had ‘cleaned’ a hole right through the wallpaper.
Harry confiscated the bottle and repaired the wall by which time Lily was crying again.
-
If Harry had expected some sympathy when his wife got home, he’d’ve been disappointed. Ginny returned home an hour late and cursing up a storm, thankfully only metaphorically.
Harry settled her down with firewhiskey in her coffee. That at least she thanked him profusely for and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“Good day off?” Robards grunted the next morning, dumping a pile of case files in front of Harry without waiting for an answer. “Good because I’ve got 99 problems just for you.”
Harry smiled, enjoying the relative calm of the office. 99 Problems? That was a break.
