I don't know, I don't have much to say. There was a quick wrap up to the Renee plotline with no real further twist aside from Tallinn dies to pull it off. (apparently neurotoxins that work on Humans also work on romulans, I thought that'd be an easy out for her)
That's a lot of sacharrine stuff between the crew, then Q sends them home and there's a quick wrap up for the borg stuff, as predicted Agnes is now the Queen and was only taking over to save people from a dangerous swirlying thing in space.
Oh and Wesley Crusher took Kore away.
It just has so little impact on my I'm afraid. And there are so many little niggles about continuity. They never mention the Eugenics War, or WWIII which should be the nearly future from the past point of view and figured prominently in Rios' story.
They don't mention Q's family from Voyager instead saying 'he's dying alone' again. Seven met his son, why wouldn't she bring him up? Are all the Q gone?
Speaking of Seven, to the end the show underuses her. (to the point Raffi and Rios take down the drones while she... watches) Seriously there’s enough material for the character to head line her own series. Instead despite the odd moment, she’s barely in this one. Despite as I’ve previously mentioned, knowing Q and of course being a borg expert.
Also and slight counter intuitively, they’ve written out Rios and Jurati? While lining up lots of TNG cameos for Season 3? This is the exact opposite direction the show should be taking underline that it’s relying on nostalgia and not trying to stand on it’s own two feet.
I just... I want to like Picard, I do, I don’t think it’s un Trek like or perverting the franchise and whatever else shit is said but I really don’t think it’s doing itself justice.
