I do think it's difficult to ask for things we want. Also, with fannish things especially, it can get tricky because something that we want is too specific, too peculiar to be explained adequately. I may attempt to fill some wishes but I won't be making a wishlist myself. *shrugs*
That true's about the specific-ness, especially random pairings like the nextgen ones where the character dynamics are all completely original because they've very little canonical categorisation.
I don't know why, but it is hard! Especially if there's not a form to fill out, although at the same time I appreciate an open and flexible format.
I'm thinking about making a mix-and-match thing. Like a list of characters, list of one-word prompts, maybe a list of random pieces of dialogue, list of tropes/kinks, etc. I prefer to leave it open-ended and hope for something novel than ask for anything in particular, but then there's the risk being too vague and not inspiring anything, so....?? Yeah, it's hard. LOL. Anyway, we have a few days yet. :)
I find it difficult to come up with prompts and stuff too. I think in my case it's partly that I have really broad tastes in fic so it's hard to narrow it down, but you don't want to say "I'll read practically anything" even if it's true, because that doesn't give the writer anything to work with.
This is true. I would sort of add: 'I'll reading anything if it's well written' which is both doubly-useless, no-one would write something they thought was bad and a bit of a conceit on my part because there's plenty of things I wouldn't read unless I already really liked and trusted the author.
