Street lights were flickering to life outside, the sales assistant was coughing and glaring at them, and they still hadn’t left the shop.
“Come on, we’ve been here for hours!”
“I just can’t decide.”
“You’re telling me. You’ve looked at every pair in the shop”
“I’ve got to find one that matches!”
“Look these ones are far the nicest. They go with your eyes.”
“Now you’re just taking the piss.”
“I am not!”
“Oh… really? Well I’ll take them then.”
“Wonderful,” Dominique said to James and then raised her voice to holler at the assistant. “We’ll take these Boots please!”

Date: 2017-02-20 10:04 pm (UTC)I looooooove the twist at the end!! It does totally make sense that *your* Dominique would be the one getting bored while shopping, though. And I like the way she takes the piss: I can totally see her face and hear her tone of voice as she says it. And James's, too. By the way, there might not be an overarcing plot, but I like to think that they are from the same universe. It feels familiar and I like to read about these two's adventures.
