I'm good. Hopeful. My new GM seems like a good egg who isn't fooled by my Dept. Manager's gaslighting. and my Dept. Manager doesn't seem to be too keen on her, which makes me happy in a Schadenfreude sort of way. That makes me hopeful.
Actually looking forward to work now, which is a new feeling.
It really does. One of my friends frequently says that people don't usually leave jobs they tend to leave Managers and it makes so much sense. Because, unless the pay is really terrible, most people will stick it out, but if the Manager is horrible, they are more likely to seek a change. If this lady follows through with her plans, I think the company will be okay and I will be okay here for a while.
Is your job closer to your Uni friends? I know you spend time with them when you have time off from work. Is it very expensive to get a flat of your own closer to work? I know for me, renting is very expensive in my parish. I could get cheap places for rent outside of my parish but getting to work would take ab extra 2 hrs each way everyday. Right now, getting a tiny studio in my parish would cost about half my salary.
works 20 minutes train ride from home. friends are a couple of hours the other way. Not really a good move to make. so if i want to move closer to them I probably have to switch jobs as well.
