hp_nextgen100. Was tempted to add more but decided to keep it to the point. I wanted to explore a different point of view for this. Follows on from: Homecoming, Moonlight & Trick And/Or Treat
Al had just finished building the bonfire up into a proper towering blaze with his Dad when James deigned to arrive. Lily and Mum warming their hands while Dad fetched the fireworks.
Bonfire night was a Muggle thing, but Dad saw it as an excellent excuse to set off fireworks with his family. It was one of the few Potter-only occasions in the big Weasley family.
And James had brought Dominique.
Al glared at her. But no-one else seemed to care. Dad swept his ‘favourite niece’ into a hug.
James thumped him on the back, unaware that anything was wrong.

Date: 2016-11-03 07:38 am (UTC)Loved your email: "Go and read my nextgen drabble!" LMAO! Yessir!
To be completely honest with you, I had already read it, but commenting on my iPhone really drives me up the wall... And I was too tired last night to do it. I'm in such a mood for bonfires, though, that I couldn't do much but LOVE this!!
I love the fact that Al is not happy with James taking Dom to a Potter-only tradition (Potter traditions! But that's a great idea and I want to use it too next time!), and I love that Dom is Harry's favourite niece! Nice change from Rose for once. I couldn't work out if the others know if they are together in this. You did that on purpose, naturally, but I'm dying of curiosity!
Awesome job, as always! So glad you're really making this into a series! <3 xx

Date: 2016-11-03 01:53 pm (UTC)Glad you liked it! I do like the potter tradition thing. Well Harry probably tells all his nieces that. You're overestimating my skill there, it's most vague because I had no words left to clarify it.
Thanks, not sure if it will last we'll have to see what the next prompt brings.
