So third week of work down and things are still pretty touch and go as far as actually having work to do  has gone. Been busy for a couple of complete days but the shorter day on friday and i had nothing to do. Spend most of the time till leaving 13:30 guiltily surfing the net on my work comp.

Today I've been doing to usual lazing about, being online, watching a film and reading Master & Commander. Which is not a patch on Hornblower as far Napoleonic naval books go. 

But i'm just feeling restless, like I should be doing something more, though I've no idea what.  If nothing else I should be writing. Spent most of the day waiting for asoiafkinkmeme's new round to open and am still uninspired by the results. I want to write that threesome prompt for you Luna or one of your prompts from earlier rounds but its just not flowing. 

Maybe I burnt myself out with asoiaf already.  

So in summary: blah. 


also LJ has convinced me i need some delicious delicious battenburg. i need to go food shopping tomorrow anyway. That's the other sucky thing. I need to plan meals and food a lot better. But a lot of time I just feel too lazy un motivated to actually cook much. I fail at self-sufficiency.

Yeah, What's double annoying is people keep saying there will be work coming up I can do... Still waiting on it. Lol. I'll probably be complaining about being too busy in a month or two.

I like the area I'm in well enough. It's close enough to walk to my work one way, shop not to far the other way. The neighbours on one side are occasionally noisy but not as often as fear when I first moved in. Only thing I'm missing is something like the canal and fields that are behind my parent's house where it was nice to go walking if I wanted some fresh air.

:-D Thanks for the encouragement but I just had them jumping straight into sex with some pretty standard, Jon is hesitant about this stuff. Not really the usual build up I put into these things. What I'm leaning towards writing is an Asha/Robb sequel suggested by a comment on the first fic. Of course then i'd have to prompt it mself to put it for kinkmeme. lol.

I guess I have been quite varied with my asoiaf pairings. Though I've basically written Jon & the Stark boys. It's not some much I latch on to one character I guess. I just like pairings and story concepts that make sense to me.

It's weird because in HP my MO is basically. Harry, Harry, Harry with any girl that will have him. Except for one Draco scene for an on-going but that was supremely unpleasant to write.

Maybe you could find a park close by? The new apartment has no yard, but my cousin lives within walking distance, and she has a fenced in yard for the dogs.

I write about Harry almost exclusively as well. Sometimes I'll try and branch out to other characters, but I understand his voice so much better than any other character in that fandom. I've never even tried to write Draco. I don't think I could do it because I just do not get his character, or why so many readers seem to love him.

There is a park close by but its not exactly huge. It's no biggy really. I guess you do a lot of walking, having a dog. Does your dog need a lot of exercise beyond your normal day-to-day travel?

Yeah, I get the not-getting why people like Draco thing. That section I wrote was pretty dark scene of him pretty much blackmailing pansy into sex. (it sort of makes sense in context) So it was me showing him off as the evil jerk i see him as. And doing that a scene with bellatrix/Harry in the same chapter pretty much turned me off ever attempting dark fic again.

She doesn't really need extra exercise, because we get around quite a bit, especially during the semester, but I try to play with her every day. Even if it's not rigorous playing it still works as down time or a de-stressor for the dog, and since she loves other dogs so much I try to take her over to my cousin's pretty often so the animals can visit each other.

What's funny is that I can write about Snape or Tom Riddle and be like, okay, this is a mean character, but I see Draco as obnoxious, which is infinitely worse, lol. I've only written two or three stories that I'd qualify as dark, but only one of them is like whoa-major-warnings. It's not my preferred genre though. I like writing about action, which is surprising for how much romance I end up writing.

You know what's weird--the first time I read OotP I thought Harry and Bella had chemistry. Granted, I was in middle school when I read that book for the first time, but they had a kind of weird energy in their shared scenes. It's an idea that I've held onto even now.

I can relate to wanting to write action. My DH re-write has a had couple of wizard duelling scenes in which are cool. I sort of have to drag myself back and remind myself i'm supposed to be writing porn when the setup/plot/action gets away from me. I wonder if the Harry/Susan one will provide some more auroring action to write.

There's definately Harry/Bella chemistry but obvious since she's badshit crazy it lends itself to darkfic. I like to read it, but didn't like writing it.
