May Roundup & Thoughts.

hp_may_madness over the course of the last month. While I quickly realised (on Day 3!) that I wasn't going to get the full fic everyday. But I did set myself a couple of two informal goals I did manage to get. First to write more than last year (9 fics and 6.7K words) and second to write at least most days. So This year I've succeeded at both of these writing 16 fics (or 17) and 13.1K words over May for May Madness.
A complete list of the fics can be found at the Archive Of Own Series or my Maymadness Tag.
Some new pairings were written: Messy (Draco/Pansy), Dangerous (Astoria/Pansy), Joyride(Sirius/Lily), Whiskey Priest (Draco/Astoria), and the Alicia/Charlie/Katie threesome:The Revelry Of The Unmarried. With an honorable mention for Negged (James Sirius/Roxanne) who have only appeared together in a finished work as half of a foursome.
With that plus an appearence from Blaise, I seem to have written more Slytherins than usual. Bit of a strange one for me since I was dead set against them at one point, at least their menfolk but, it's sort of what fandom wants?
Still that's didn't stop me from writing some old favourites like Harry/Luna, (Gazer) and Harry/Tonks (Teaching) both of which I've not written in a sinfully long time. Harry/Tonks especially.
Despite what I've said about Slytherins the next-gen James/Teddy/Victoire threesome has received the most kudos. (There's a slashy aspect to it) and Distraction Received the most reviews.

Date: 2016-06-01 09:40 pm (UTC)Yes experimenting is good. I think the daily prompts helped. I didn't often use the suggested pairing but sometimes the words or quote seemed to suggest pairings I hadn't done or considered before.
