TGIF: Weather report

There is a tiny amount of snowfall that is not even sticking... That means everything is late!


eta: Lunch update: It's sticking at work. Lots of people very late or not in. Getting home may be... interesting.

Npt having a good day. Some how manage to lose my season ticket on the train after showing it to the conductor. I think I must have left in on my lap afterwards and dropped it while leaving. So at the very least, I had to a buy a ticket home so I can get through the ticket gate tonight. Might be able to get it reissued from the ticket office at home. Tomorrow if I grab a photo of myself. For a charge.

Also my shoes are old and the bottom of the sole is wearing off in places. Which means I got a fuckton on ice stuck between two layers of my shoe.

Train was 10 minutes late. Compared the people who drive in I got off lightly in that respect.

Ok. I keep forgetting that for non-tropical countries slight weather changes affect daily activites. Unless we get a hurricane, Jamaica doesn't shut down for anything.

Where you live in relation to where you work? I mean county-wise. You can name places I don't know.

I live in Cheshire, a bit south of Manchester. (I expect you've heard of that one)

I work halfway between where I live and Manchester. About 13 miles away. About 10-15 minutes on a quick train, 20 on a slow one.

I'm familiar with the various Shires and I know (of) Manchester. We have one of those in Jamaica too (^_^).

Convenient, I suppose. We dont have a very good public transport system so no trains, much less those that run on time. We just have buses and cabs and they have to sit in traffic with the rest of us.

We're having the exact same weather here! Snowing, pretty, but not actually sticking... and somehow P's bus was so early he missed it! I'm quite annoyed, TBH.

What? If things get their early they should be waiting for the correct time to leave. You can't penalise people for being on time!

Yeah, I'm considering complaining. Not that I think it will do anything but when it's snowing seems like an especially bad time to have the kids running in hopes of catching it. :/

Glad to see you were only mildly inconvenienced all things considered. It is crazy how a little bit of weather makes everyone forget how to drive, etc.

What a mess! Both the snow and the ticket. At least it's Friday? Any chance you can leave on an earlier train home?

In actual fact my boss insisted I leave about 90 minutes early in case the train system collapsed in that time so I got home really early!

Should be able to get the ticket reprinted with a small idiot tax (on top of needing a ticket to get home)

luckily, it had been handed in at the station. so no need! I escape my carelessness with no idiot tax. Aside from needing a ticket home yesterday.

Luckily. small price to pay. Good to know that there are still good people out there.
I just collected stuff I ordered from Amazon including a tiny wireless keyboard to use from my bed when my laptop is connected to my tv.

That sounds nifty! With my new desktop i can't use the computer in bed anymore :(

It's a teeny-tiny keyboard, about the size of a smart phone but it has a usb dongle to make it conveniently wireless. Once the laptop is connected to the tv at the foot of my bed I can control it from the head of the bed. I'm loving it so far. I want to use it properly but PoA is on ABC Family...can't switch on HP.
