Working too Hard

Got an email from HR Lady today saying i had way too much holiday left for this time of year and reminding me it doesn't carry over. lol.

When I was a kid, I always wondered why the folks didn't just want to stay at home during holidays but I get it more now. I wouldn't want a week just at home, especially with both the folks now retired. I don't know where I would go though. I may just take a few odd days off or long weekends this month and next and lie to myself that I'll write in them.

Speaking of writing. Prompts of Colour has got its first fill: a Padma/Daphne fic by my friend mayorhaggar I think people might like. (Nearly, looking at you ;P)

and I wrote another drabble for Humpathon as well.

I go on holiday abroad every year when I can, but this year I've had some fantastic holidays in England. I really couldn't be bothered with flying and it's nice sometimes just to hope on a train for a change of scenery, either for a day trip or to stay overnight. I always take plenty of books, find a cafe to sit in and mooch around before going back to my hotel and ordering room service, lol. That makes me sounds so lazy...

I also had some time off just at home as part of my holiday this year, but made sure I went out and did some things I never get the chance to do when I'm working, like mooch around a museum or drink cocktails at three o'clock in the afternoon :D

I've become quite fond of chilled holidays as a result. I hope you come up with a good plan, whatever you do!

I think if there's one time you're allowed to be lazy/ Holiday is definitely it. I've not left the Uk since... shit, 2008 I think, my last uni field trip to spain. I don't even know if my passport's in date.

No, the opposite. I've not taken enough holiday. We have a certain allotment of days we can take each year and if you don't take them all they don't get added to next year's alotment.
