Harry/Fleur tops this list. Posted to A03 early last year but actually written way before that in my AFF days. And one non-Hp fic there! A PG-13 Jon/Sansa from A Song Of Ice and Fire. A bit of action, a bit of fluff pre-romance. And the others are fest fic. Surprisingly the lowest one there is earliest as it was posted to A03 by Smutty_claus long before I actually had an account.

That same Harry/Fleur tops this. I have a theory there. The Harry/Astoria is a bit of a puzzler. Sub My Coke has been up for a long time. The other two: I think the various is the key. They both contain an awful lot of tags for different characters and pairings and kinks. For het and slash and femmeslash, so that's a lot of opportunities to find it.

The Veela theory, I have mentioned this elsewhere before, is that it's because its tagged 'Underage Harry', that's not just an HP tag. I've seen One Direction and others so it may turn up on an awful lot of searches so people give it a try while trawling through their results.

That same Harry/Fleur fic yet again. I don't get it why its so popular. I'm not sure I can draw anything sensible from this. Veela and Quick One are pure porn. But the other three mix porn up with sappier, fluffier moments. So that could be a clue.

Not as much as gap between public and private as in Torino's, but not as much taboo content in them either.

I basically write three things: rarer Harry het, next gen, and rare pairs. If nothing else I think we can see what is most popular. Unless its just because I write so much more Harry...

The only thing out of place here is "maybe", Daye. Have you checked the Archive recently? Have you ever sorted the fics for hits, kudos or comments? Not many G-rated fics in the first hundreds of pages.. ;) xx

Hmm, I can see what you mean about the hit count for the Veela one. That is really a huge difference. Clearly it is a popular fic, as it leads the other lists as well, but I do think you're right that it's drawn a few people by mistake.

Oh, also, remember that Kudos draw Kudos so if that's the top fic, people will read it because it's the top fic.

As for that one Smutty that's surprisingly low, I think 2011 was a long time ago in AO3 years. It's really the last 2-3 that it's become much more lively.

That's a good point about the kudos/popularity. It really is a substantial difference though. I didn't see how much until look it up for this. More than double the #2 each time.

I'm surprised about the first Smutty as well. It's one of my favourite fics I've ever written as well.

I'm happy the smutty ones are so well represent though. Nargles and Favours & Benefits were two ones were I really got to use pairings I'd always wanted to do properly.
