Saturday update!

restored my computer to factory settings. Partly to help its performace and partly because my firewall was giving me worrying warning messages. Not sure it's helped much with the former. Since I had to reinstall most of the crap that wa slowing it down. Skype. Chrome. I'm looking at you. And of course now i can't shut my computer down without it swarming me with updates. I did try to use firefox instead which seemed lighterweight resource wise but modern firefox is evil and ugly and unworkable. it didn't tell em the address of the website i was on and i couldn't bookmark anything. So... back to chrome.

Having a slightly longer weekend. Ended up taking half a days holiday yesterday afternoon. Another team had priority to use our server which meant we could barely work and our boss suggested two of us could take the afternoon off if we wanted.

Went for a walk with the family today. and we went for a pub meal as a very belated treat for my mum's birthday and an early one for father's day. would have been nice if there was not a screaming young child on the table next to us.

speaking of father's day, should i be wrapping the box of chocolates i got him? or just handing them over?

Tomorrow is the anniversay of the battle of waterloo or close to it, I think. A local landmark was built to commemorate that battle. So there's a bit of a fuss over it tomorrow. My mum's choir is involved so I'm going to be up there listening to it tomorrow afternoon. -_- fun.
