So the fourth of may. Or as you american would have it may the fourth... may the fourth be with... May the Force be with you. It's Star Wars Day!

Yeah, not feeling it. Or the new sequels coming soon. I've avoided the second trailer so I don't get hyped. Though considering what JJ Abrahams did the Star Trek... he should do well with Star Wars.

Still they did wipe out the existing book continuity for the new films. Books I spend an incredible amount of time reading during my youth. I mean yeah the books are still there and what not. But that, and the obvious money grubbing nature of the sequels does not endear them to me.

This has been my post for the day/

Happy Star Wars Daye!!!

I'm not keen on these new movies either but I think my issue just that rather than actually think up a new idea they're just rehashing successes of the past.

Don't forget there is a new Jurassic Park coming soon and a new Fantastic 4 plus every other superhero Marvel has in their catalogue.

I'm curious to see a brand new idea/concept. That would really stun me.

The thing is, I really enjoy some of those original stories that aren't affiliated to a 20-yr old franchise. Granted Inceptions/Avatars of the world don't really grab me but there have been other interesting stories.

I feel like it's a Catch-22. The non-Marvel-type blockbusters take away revenue from the smaller budget original stories so they tend not to get made and supported, but the reason they tend not to get made and supported is because the studios assume that the audience will only be interested in the big budget blockbuster.

I don't know if I explained that right. :S

*crawls out from under rock*

Oh, is there a new Star Wars movie out?

I can deal with the money-grubbing, but what I will never, ever forgive is the endless rambling snoozefest that was Attack of the Clones.
