Today's ride home yielded a little more exposition and further cluelessness.
----
Though Harry had attended quite a few weddings in the years since the war, indeed it often seemed that everyone he had ever known was getting married. Still Malfoy's wedding seemed the most ostentatious yet. Harry wondered whether the lavish complexity of the event was a 'pureblood tradition' or just a Malfoy one. Thankfully they were already past the long ceremony and on to the reception, which apparently consisted of a couple of hours mingling followed by a meal followed by more mingling on this time with dancing and booze.
The meal was another long drawn out affair, especially Harry, He was seated far own the table in the midst of absolutely no-one he knew but then perhaps that was a blessing as anyone he did know in the gathering had little reason to be well disposed toward him,
Still it left his with nothing to do but sit and eat and think, His brief conversation with Daphne kept replaying in his head, weighing on his mind like a missed opportunity.
halfway through the third course, it clicked and the question appeared fully formed in his brain; had she just been flirting with him?
On the face of it, it seemed ridiculous. Why on Earth would anyone flirt with him?
