Summary: Neville faces a choice and asks what would Harry do?
A/n: Unbeta'd. Written for [community profile] neville100's Prompt #575: "Choice". Based off of something Neville says in DH, though Neville was gaining confidence earlier than this in canon. Ah well, it's what came to mind for the prompt.

Seventh year at Hogwarts was not proving fun for Neville Longbottom. They were forced to be there by the new regime of the ministry and every day Slytherins enforced their rule over everyone else.

Neville wanted to fight back but his efforts in that regard had never been successful. He watched a Slytherin seventh year bullied a pair of second years, looming over them, screaming and shouting and threatening them.

A memory surfaced in Neville's thoughts, a fragment of a speech, only half retained by his poor memory: "You have a choice between what is right and what is easy"

It was an easy thing for the greatest wizard of the age to say, less so when you were basically a squib and your best subject was bloody herbology.

A second thought crossed Neville's mind: "What would Harry do?"

Harry used to say he had no skills except flying but it had never stopped him.

Neville steeled himself and got between the second years and their bully.

"What do you think you're doing?" The Slytherin said.

"I could ask you the same thing." Neville snapped.

The second years had gratefully fled and Neville was never tempted to back down again.
