"So who do you want to go out with?" Lavender Brown said to Parvati Patil one evening, sitting at the foot of her four poster.

"Oh, no-one," Parvati said. "you?"

"I was thinking Neville Longbottom."

"Neville?" She snorted. "Why?"

"Well, he'd never try anything would he?" Lavender replied. "He's safe."

"So," Parvati said, sitting by Lavender's bed in St Mungo's, "what hot dates have you got planned when you get out of here?"

"Oh, I couldn't go out." Lavender said, scared.

Parvati had a flash of Neville, war-torn and carrying a sword.

"What about Neville? You'd be safe with him."
