One cool January morning, Neville Longbottom drew himself up and embraced the persona he'd decided upon.
"Hey there roundheels, how about you and me go and find a broom for back seat bingo, ya dig?"
Lavender Brown burst out giggling.
"Neville, what was that?"
"I was asking you out," Neville said.
"I got that, I meant why are you speaking like that?"
"Well.. I mean.. I thought I'd try… umm, 'New year, New me', for confidence?" Neville stumbled over his words.
"I'll go on a date with you," Lavender said, blushing prettily, "but the old you will be perfectly sufficient."
