Victoire Weasley had wanted a big wedding like her parents'. Teddy had wanted to elope like his parents. They compromised: they had a quiet private wedding and overly lavish reception.
Everyone partied until the small hours of the morning until the new couple departed amidst a swarm of smiles, waves, cheering and impromptu toasts.
"Well that's that," James said to cousin Molly, his head spinning from pilfered drinks. "off to bed, lucky Teddy."
"What do you mean?" Molly said, blushing.
"It's their wedding night Mols," James said, giggling. "What do you think they're doing?"
"Snap!" cried Teddy placing his hand down over the card and then withdrawing it sharply before the exploding snap card… exploded.
"No fair!" Victoire said, laughing. "How are you so good at this? Doesn't Uncle Harry work you at all at the Auror Office."
"Not at all," her newly minted husband, "I get by on my good looks."
"Strangely, I find that entirely plausible." Victoire said cupping his face. "You know, shouldn't we be doing something?"
They were lounging together in bed in their underwear; their fancy robes strewn over the hotel floor.
"Sure, another round, I'll deal."
They were far too tired for anything else.
