Birds were singing outside Harry Potter’s window and sunlight poured in through the window. He didn’t open his eyes for a long time though. Last night had been very lovely, he didn’t want it to end.
There’s a soft noise and Harry sensed someone moving next to him. His eyes snapped open. On the other side of his bed was a blonde woman who sat up and rubbed her closed eyes, the duvet fell off of her showing that she was completely naked.
Harry stared.
“D-daphne!” He said. “You’re still here!”
Daphne’s eyes open and then was a glimmer of something in their sea-green depths.
“Was I not supposed to be?” She said, a smile playing over her lips. Maybe, Harry thought that glimmer was amusement? That was better than anger at least.
“No, I mean, yes. I mean...” Harry trailed off. “I’m happy, you’re still here. I had fun last night.”
“I did to.” Daphne said and then a smile fully blossomed on her face. “Oh I get it. You didn’t think I’d stay? Nasty old Daphne Greengrass using a innocent old Harry for my wicked way and then leaving you in the dead of night?”
Harry felt himself go pink.
“Something like that,” he muttered.
“Didn’t you think if I was manipulating you, I’d have to stick around and keep doing it to achieve my ends?”
“You’re not making me feel better.” Harry said.
“Wasn’t trying to.” Daphne said, the glimmer was back in her eyes and Harry now though it might even be pity. “So is it everyone, you think won’t be there when you wake up? Or I am special.”
“Daphne, I didn’t mean...” Harry didn’t have anyway of finishing that sentence because Daphne had hit the nail on the head. He shrugged. “You’re not special. Well not in that way.” He said trying to salvage the situation somehow.
“Well good,” Daphne said, leaning closer, her green eyes locked on his. “Because you’re not getting rid of me that easily, you know.”
Harry smiled and nodded and start thinking about what to cook them for breakfast, suffused in a warm and happy glow.
