Star Trek Picard S2E5 (Spoilers)

lightofdayeI don't have a lot to say about this one.
All the plot lines continue a pace. Much less Rios, Raffi and Seven this time which I am sad. Picard's main plot is fine and the Jurati/Queen stuff is good.
It felt much less complete a story than some episodes or maybe even more serialised? See how I feel next week.
There is a couple things I wish to moan and complain about: We don't need Spiner playing yet another variation of the Soong family. It fits continuity with Enterprise but it's just unnecessary, and coupled with that the elephant in the room, the Eugenics War and World War III. The Eugenics war has clearly happened and is the reason for them revoking Soong's license and whatever they do in 2024, WWIII is coming between now and first contact. Global thermonuclear war. It's kind of grim to admit but whatever they do here is not going to save the civilisation immediately.
Seven at least seems to recognise Q on sight but again it's a very oblique acknowledgement of continuity rather an out right nod and it just seems really weird considering the obscure bits of TOS that they will reference.
