Summary:Ginny and Katie are forced to share a hotel room and come to a revelation.
A/n: Fic and Pairing #8 for Rare Pair Challenge, this one taking inspiration from the optional prompt 'bed sharing' though.
“Well I’ve got good news and bad news,” said Gwenog Jones, Captain of the Holyhead Harpies, “the good news is they’ve put us up in a really nice Hotel for this trip, the bad news is that it’s such a nice hotel that we’re over booked. Weasley, Bell, you’re sharing.”
Ginny looked over at Katie Bell. The pretty blonde chaser had gone very pink.
“Excuse me?” Katie squeaked.
“You heard me, Bell,” Jones said. “You two are our newest members, you get to share.”
Katie subsided. Ginny frowned she’d always got on rather well with Katie, she’d been on the Gryffindor Quidditch team Ginny’s first two years and had been really encouraging when she’d moved from emergency seeker to full-time chaser. She couldn’t think why Katie would object to spending a room with her.
“It’s okay, I don’t snore or anything.” She said, but Katie just looked away, still blushing.

“That was a long day,” Ginny said as she and Katie staggered into their hotel room after practice. “I need a shower. You mind?”
The room was pretty big and spacious and Ginny foresaw now problem sharing it with Katie. Thoughtlessly she discarded, her robes and threw them over an armchair and then moved to take pull off the t-shirt she was wearing underneath.
Katie made a strangled noise.
“Can you keep your clothes on please?”
Ginny whirled around glowering.
“I’m not that hideous to look at.”
“Trust me Ginny,” said Katie determinately looking sway from Ginny, who realise she was standing in front of her nearly topless. “That’s the complete opposite of the problem here.”
“Oh,” Ginny said and her jaw dropped. She was standing in front of Katie, nearly naked. Katie who was gay. “Oh, Sorry. Katie. I didn’t think. I...”
Ginny rushed into the bathroom. She pulled her t-shirt back on fully and washed her face. Then she took a deep breath and went back.
“So you sort of fancy me?” She said.
“Yeah, well, I wasn’t going to say,” Katie muttered still looking away despite Ginny’s lack of nakedness. “’Cos you’re not… and I didn’t want it to be awkward. That worked.”
“Hey, Katie,” Ginny said softly. “Look at me.”
Katie met Ginny’s gaze and she smiled at her. When Katie smiled back, Ginny felt a frisson of connection pass through her. She’d been focussing onher career ever since Hogwarts and she hadn’t had time for relationships with men or women. She’d never considered it but she found she had no objection at all to being fancied by Katie.
“It’s okay, Katie. I don’t mind. The opposite really. I don’t know exactly what I am. I can’t promise you anything but when this trips all over, maybe you’d like to find out with me?”
Katie’s smile grew even more brighter and all the tension in the room disappeared. Ginny smiled to herself, things were going to be just fine.
