spoilers under the cut
Why have these things for to be some unpleasant? I liked when it got star trekky and nice at the end of S1 now you got to be all miserable again?
Picard and Q's very angry cantankerous talk was not fun. Everyone else's reactions and scenes were actually quite entertaining. I like Seven's little tests to try and figure out what the situation is.
The cast's relief and joy when they find each other again is very sweet and nice and feels natural.
I find the 'fascist alt-history' with the Confederation kind of on the nose and been-there-done-that, it's not Mirror Universe but it's close enough. I did enjoy the episode once it got going though.
Given that Q blames Picard for this I wonder if he just means humanity or there will be some All Good Things style shenanagians were Team Picard travelling back in time to stop the change will cause the change or something.
