Dad was late home that evening, a spate of dark magic was keeping the Auror office extremely busy and feeling responsible he'd pushed himself as hard as anyone.
James pulled out his chair, while Al switched on the kettle and Lily took his cloak.
"Nice of you all to wait up," Dad said.
"We're teenagers, Dad," Al said, "We were up anyway."
"Of course," Dad said, "Any news?"
"Well, we did get a few messages," James said, a smile playing around his lips. “One was from an Antiques’ dealer”
“Oh?” Dad frowned.
“It’s okay, we said he couldn’t have you.”
