Just watched it, Didn't make notes as we go so here is some retrospective thoughts:

-My pettiest of gripes: The Voyager-J, Adding a letter to any ship registry other than Enterprise (and even then) seem fanwanky/fanficcy to me, especially when they get that high.
-the concept of a ship that just forcefields as well is awful in practical terms. What do you do in a power cut?
-We didn't get a really good look at the future-ships either. :(
-Now is it just me or is there a distinct ds9-bajoran influence of the 30th Century Starfleet uniforms?

the modern starfleet seems almost entirely made up of humans and human looking holograms which is sad.

I think the show is having really trouble balancing episode of the week plots and the on-going story. there's a lot of potential in the seed ship plotline but it given short thrift with all the other stuff that's going on.

-Jett Reno's interrogation sequence was funny.
-As was Nhan's but her characterization just sort of went nowhere just petered out a bit.

-That Georgiou's interrogator knew so much about the terrans is interesting.

-I don't know what to make of this season really.

To me it made sense for Starfleet to be less diverse at the moment since they have limited communication with distant planets and it's harder for people to move around. Hopefully the plot will go in a direction of that changing.

This episode seemed a little all over the place too, though there were a few gems like Gay Engineering Squad and Georgiou's interrogation.
