Now what?

Well bbtp_challenge ran yesterday and has a lovely big masterlist here

And now there's a sudden lack of things I'm interested in doing.

For the first time since, oh 2011 I think? When I wrote one of my all time favourite fics. That I won't be taking part in Smutty Claus, because it finished last year.

I can't say I was the best at reading what was posting there, or that I regularly got my entry in on time. But it was still probably the fest that got my longest highest quality work done for it. And I think I'm really going to miss it.

You wrote for SC for 9 years?? Wow. Sad indeed to see that era end. But you went in and out with a bang. Two of the finest pieces of fic I've ever read.

Yep, 9 years, 9 fics, once I'd started I didn't stop. And it had been going for a long time before then even.

Goodness! I'm not sure I've read them all, but the Harry/Luna also stands out in my mind as a particularly beautiful fic. There is one line in that fic that makes me go ahhhhh every time I think of it. I have such a fondness for that pairing.

Exchange fests are great for pushing us because of course we want to please the recipient. But I can see why there are so few around these days. It gets harder and harder to match people up as the fandom shrinks.

I hope you might consider finishing a bingo card? I think you were fairly close, weren't you?

Maybe I shall do a list of them sometime. They are not all as good as those ones!

I'd done 2/3rds of a line. I may give the outstanding ones a go, got the rest of this month I guess.

It's super sad when a fest that's been around so long ends its run but especially when you were so active with it. :( Exchanges in particular often push us in a direction we might not have taken otherwise.

Well 7/9 of them were Harry centric rarepairs but yes, it did tend to stretch me in directions I didn't otherwise go.

Glad to see you posted for BBTP yesterday! It was a lot of fun. There are some interesting fall fests coming up and then we're already into the winter fests. :O Sorry to hear about Smutty Claus; I had never written for it but it's certainly a household fandom name.

As sad as I am about SC it was probably time, it was getting smaller and smaller each year as fandom shrank/loved away from LJ.
