One doesn't like to make too many posts about it because they become repetitive and even less interesting than their already low starting point.

But dang my 'muse' will not cooperate. Even when you've just written something and want to ride that high. Even after a short thing like the double drabble I did and then zip. Nothing happening.

Then there's that annoying dichotomy of 'don't want to force it' but also 'sometimes you have to so sit down and make yourself practise writing'.


As always hope everyone is doing well and staying as safe as they can.

Ugh, I struggle with this too particularly lately so I hear you. I've had fic 'feels' but when I try to write it's just...nothing.

Like you I'm not sure if I force writing I'm ever that productive but I've tried various tricks over the years when I'm blocked, from listening to music that gives me shippy vibes, watching fanvids, reading other fic, 'freewriting' where I just sit and write whatever comes to mind as a kind of writing limbering up and so on. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't! Very unhelpful comment I realise, LOL.

Music doesn't really give me shipping vibes but it does help the writing to put on some of spotify's studying or concentration playlists.

I do need to read more fanfic as well. hunting down decent stories is a bit time consuming when you're not part of major ships though.
