N+1

One doesn't like to make too many posts about it because they become repetitive and even less interesting than their already low starting point.

But dang my 'muse' will not cooperate. Even when you've just written something and want to ride that high. Even after a short thing like the double drabble I did and then zip. Nothing happening.

Then there's that annoying dichotomy of 'don't want to force it' but also 'sometimes you have to so sit down and make yourself practise writing'.

As always hope everyone is doing well and staying as safe as they can.

It REALLY sucks to want to write and not be able. It's not something I can make myself do. Some people get into it once they get started. That's true for me for a lot of stuff (cooking, cleaning, sewing, tedious work assignments, etc.), but with writing, I really have to be feeling it to get anywhere at all. And it seems there's no forcing that feeling.

But we all work in different ways, and if you think you might get somewhere by making yourself write, maybe just aim for 100 words of whatever and see if it sparks anything? Not much waste if it doesn't.

Sorry, this is not exactly a good example of cheerleading, is it? :\

Yeah, me too, and even my favorite prompt lists on tumblr get stale after a while.

Do you ever start writing fics and then drop them? I ask because my own unfinished work has sometimes sparked new ideas when I've gone back to it months or even years later.

I am always happy to have new Daye fic to comment on!! I know you'll just say flatterer. XD But I always get excited when I see you've posted something new. One of these days I'm going to do an archive binge of all your Louis fic in a selfish attempt to get more Louis.
