Happy Friday everyone, how is it May? I, like everyone else, am losing my sense of time entirely. Owing to bank holidays and four day weeks I've been enjoying Fridays off for a while now.
So no writing to report but i have been doing some other things this year:
On the fandom side, I've put in some prompts for
hphet 's minifest. As I've said before. This weekend is your last chance to get some in! So if you have any het ideas do please consider entering them! You never know who you might inspire. :)
Hope everyone is as well as can be.
So no writing to report but i have been doing some other things this year:
- I've playing a lot of Spider-Man on the PS4 and even bought myself the DLC add-ons when they were on sale last week, so playing through that new content at the moment.
- I've watched movies I've never seen before on Netflix. The Cabin In The Woods and The Silence of the Lambs, not a big horror fan though so not going further with the other Hannibal films.
- Working very slowly through the final episodes of Capaldi's Doctor Who run, want to go back to Star Trek Discovery after that
- Re-read all the Hornblower books and then started reading some news ones I'd been putting off. Brief Cases, the second Dresden Files anthology by Jim Butcher and currently Voyage of the Basilisk by Marie Brennan the third in her lady trent/natural history of dragons series.
On the fandom side, I've put in some prompts for
Hope everyone is as well as can be.

Date: 2020-05-01 02:32 pm (UTC)It's weird. I had a lot of anxiety the first few weeks we were on lockdown, then I kind of became apathetic about it. Now I'm feeling a creeping anxiety about reopening. Almost like an animal who has become accustomed to their cage. Time has little meaning.
The Silence of the Lambs is fantastic! Hannibal is very gory but beautifully shot. I actually prefer it.
I've been trying to think of prompts, but fandom is so far from my mind these days. I'm sure I'll think of 20 or so as soon as prompting closes, haha.
Enjoy your Friday and your weekend!

Date: 2020-05-01 03:53 pm (UTC)Our lot have been making noises about being over the peak which is a bit worrying as well.
No worries about the prompts or fandom. If they do start flooding in after the deadline maybe write them down and save them for another time? (or email them all to me, lol)
Happy weekend to you to!

Date: 2020-05-01 04:23 pm (UTC)I can't believe it's May. And we say that every year, don't we? But the feeling behind it is very different this year.

Date: 2020-05-01 02:39 pm (UTC)Oh, I need to get on watching Discovery too. I keep meaning to start it. I'm curious about it, I've just been writing so much lately I honestly haven't had a lot of time for TV!

Date: 2020-05-01 09:32 pm (UTC)Whew, happy Friday indeed! I've been still going to my physical workplace, but it is going to be weird when more than 5 people are in a building that usually holds about 100.
It feels like I saw Silence of the Lambs a million years ago and recall being really impressed, I may have seen Hannibal but I don't know if it made a big impression on me?
Hooray for hphet! This weekend is my chance to get caught up on a bunch of fannish things now that the work week is over.

Date: 2020-05-02 01:27 pm (UTC)Yeah it must be weird when most of people aren't in the office and then are. There was one chap in our office who started working from home a week after everyone else which must have been odd.
Yay! i hope you enjoy the fannish stuff! :)
