hp_nextgen100 Prompt #173: Heat. Which is ever so appropriate atm.
James lay back on his towel on the beech beneath Shell cottage. He pressed his hands to his face and tried to wipe off the sweat that seemed to be coursing out of every pore.
“Hey Jamie! You want to play quidditch?” Roxy said, tossing a quaffle into the air and catching it.
“In this heat? No way.” James said.
Roxanne was unsympathetic.
“Suit yourself.”
A few minutes later, Louis appeared, wearing nothing but a bandanna above the waist and surely going to get incredibly sunburnt.
“What about Volleyball? Footie?”
“If I move I’m going to die.” James said flatly.
A shadow fell over him. James looked up. Dominique’s swimsuit was one-piece and should have looked plain. It didn’t. James tried not to stare but the nylon clung to Dominique’s long slender frame and the costume exposed toned legs that went on forever.
Dom smiled lopsidedly at him.
“Fancy a swim?” she said.
James swallowed hard, his mouth was suddenly dry, not just because of the heat.
“S-sure.”
It could just have been wishful thinknig but as he stripped down to his swimming trunks he could have sworn she was giving him exactly the kind of look he’d given her.
