Harry felt himself go red as she considered what he said. This was stupid, feeling just like a teenager asking Cho Chang to the Yule Ball all over again, though he had known Cho might like him before he asked.
Daphne Greengrass was a complete enigma to him.
“All right,” she said “Tomorrow evening then. You get one shot, Potter.”
Harry heaved a sigh of relief and saw amusement in Daphne’s eyes. She turned away.
“Ah, Potter there you are.” Robards said gruffly, carrying an overflowing armful of case files. “These are for you.”
One step forward, two steps back
