I've seen it in a few places now but why are people saying 'well they ignored boaty mcboatface they can ignore the referendum'

As if they were in anyway the same thing by the same people.

We lost the vote. That makes me very sad. I have sympathy with those who want another vote. With the idea the threshold was set too low. But that was an argument that should have happened before the referendum, not something that can apply afterwards.

I've seen the petition links going around but yeah, I kinda agree with you. It seems like grasping at straws.

I've seen the 2nd referendum petition. And a labour Mp has proposed they ignore the Vote entirely.

Which technically they can as it's 'advisory' and Parliament actually has to vote on it. But realistically is probably a non-starter as the MPs would be crushed come next election.

I signed the one for London to become an independent city-state because it started as a joke and now... suddenly, it isn't! But I really liked the "Mayor Sadiq, wouldn't you prefer to be President Sadiq? Make it happen!" LOL. That made my day.

But yeah. I don't think that either the UK or the EU are going to take the petition into consideration. What is done is done. What is said is said. xx

I assume it was a joke what the post parodying the brexit arguments. Like 99% sure it can't happen.

something of this magnitude should never have been up to popular vote nor being permanent.
(specially when the margin was so close (4 point difference!)

(also the EU council need to stop with the 'you deserve it- LEAVE NOW' attitiude. (48% of people didn't wanted to Leave! several economies are screwed over this! have some empathy!)

I really hope you guys are able to get through this without having to rebuild everything from the ground up.
