a) Never try to trim a beard. You will end up with an incoherent in asymmetrical mess. Aargh.


b) didn't manage to do the writing I told you lot I might. Did start the room tidying I told the parents I was going to do. My floor is now considerably less strewn with paper and odd rubbish. The paper and cards done in the recycling bin but a lot of the rest of it has been consolidated into new piles or tucked away in odd draws and shelves.

The wole process left me oddly downhearted. I have so many piles of books and dvds i never really make use of anymore but are still loath to give away. I should be more strict and give them away/hawk the dvds to the exchange shop.

I am terrible about giving away things. Piles everywhere. I was trying to get my son to sell back some of the video games he doesn't play but the amount you get for them almost isn't worth the trouble. A brand new game that's $60 they were going to give him IDK $12. So the crappy ones, you get 2-3 bucks. Meh.

The price of new games is one of the reasons every game I own was either on sale or preowned. And that was before the new thing where you have to by tons of those statue things to get proper use out of a game...

I've got whole series of books I've not read for ages but then a lot of them were gifts which makes me even more iffy about donating them.

Sorry about the writing. I hope you feel better about the decluttering once you get a bit further with it. It can feel very freeing once you really get going. I read some advice once which said that you don't need to keep those books that you've read to display your knowledge or remind you of what you learned from them. It's all there in your head. This was useful to me when I had to give away about a thousand books once.

Well I evened it out by going back to a goatee but I may go clean shaven again next time I pick up a razor.

Happier wih the extra space. Still got a lot to do though.

I have to get rid of the dust this weekend so that I can live. Still not over the flu and the dust is not helping but I'm too weak to do anything about it.
