May. 10th, 2026 06:25 pmSo following on from yesterday's tech problem it just seems like everything's gone wrong today.
Took the computer to a local repair person, who works of their home a town over. Cool, except I somehow slammed my mum's car into the kerb going around a miniround about.
Then despite using a satnav, I get lose and go up and down the road, because I misremembered the number of the house as 22 instead of 88.
Then I've been trying my hand at homemade lasagna based off a babish recipe using the video and a lot of substitutions, because even though I signed up with his website, that recipe isn't there.
I started an hour early because my tablet clock was set to spanish time and i thought it was 1530 rather than 1430 but that's okay because four hours later i'm still going, it's got a little while still to cook and rest yet.
Because i did okay with the ragu but the bechamael was way too thin, and i accidently threw it out while trying to fix it. So its meat and pasta with hastily redone cheese sauce on top. (and i wasted a litre of milk and so cheese trying to fix)
Why was it too thin? because I'd carbonised the rue solid to the bottom of the pan and i mostly shifted it but the scrubber i was using, plastic one with bristles fell apart under the strain as I did so and it still not 100% clean, putting in it the dishwasher.
Then I had to wash and rewash everything in the kitchen i'd used to cook, and since i'd not thought to reduce the quantities. I have more lasagna than i could possibly eat, and of dubious quality, not seen it yet.
It seems petty writing it down but boy am I stressed and unhappy. Newly 38 and totally uncapable of coping for myself for a weekend.
What's a real worry is the car. I think I've just bashed up the hubcap but if I've damaged to tire or wheel that's going to be expensive/dangerous fast.
