The Malfoys were old money and Scorpius Malfoy had grown up in a manor house full of luxurious furnishings that had been collected and curated by his family over generations.
Rose Weasley's grandparents were poor, he knew and though her parents had done well for themselves, they had never taken it for granted. Rose herself had struck out on her own as soon as she was able.
Yet lying on a creaky old bed, covered in a threadbare quilt, with a dozing Rose spoon up in the curve of his body was the first time Scorpius had felt real comfort.
