Discovery S3 E7 (spoilers)

At this point, I want to like Disco more than I actually like it. It's not done anything wrong aside from not really being how I think it should be. The burn is not making more sense to me as time goes and they went to Vulcan, met romulans and no mention of their black hole warp cores. I guess I just have to accept that they used dilithium too according to the writers.
The advance of the main plot feels glacial at this point, is that just me? Hopefully the second part of the series really starts to move. But they are trying. they are trying to highlight Star Trekky values of tolerance and cooperation and talking it out. plus all the scenes of crewly comraderies and so on. They using a lot more continuity, last season with TOS, this one with TNG, DS9 and PIC.
They are very clearly trying. I don't know it's not clicking with me. And this ramble isn't explaining it very well.
