I love Jurati and I had the same reaction to her line there -- she doesn't even realize the irony of her own bluntness as she points out how annoying bluntness could be. Clever bit.

I found the swords a little odd too since Romulans haven't been known to be super into swords before. Usually that's been a Klingon thing. I guess we'll see where it goes. In general I do like what they're doing with Romulan culture, really trying to open it up and go beyond the types of Romulans we've seen in the past. (It made me chuckle that some of the older Romulans on the planet had the old TNG-era Official Romulan Bowl Cut hairstyle.)
