Some spoilerific thoughts I jotted down as i went.
I was getting tired off the teasers all being flashbacks but these weeks was actually good and felt very Picard like, the connection he has with the romulan refugees, the brutally blunt Romulan women was a hilarious and nice continuity nod that Picard was not fond of children but has come a long way since then.
Still we seem to be missing proper saucer ships which I am sad about, we only seem to be seeing shuttles. I’d love to see the current gen of proper Starfleet ships. Hopefully before the end of the series.
I still love the emergecy holograms but the hologram of Picard’s study on the ships seems kind of indulgent, presumably they wanted more use out of the set?
Jurati is hilarious and there was definite irony in her dissing the was of absolute candor.
The main plot of Elnor was rather predictable and I find it odd to see so many people carrying swords in Star Trek but it was well presented and well done.
And after my old wanting for old ships we get an very old Romulan Bird Of Prey design amazing.
And of course the very special guest star arrives with a bang. I'm looking forward to seeing them properly interact with the cast next week.
